Document-Based Activities for World History: Using Primary Sources and the Internet |
(Retail Price: $299.95) |
Designed to help students think as historians, these reproducible units employ a variety of primary source data available online (written, visual, audio/video, charts, statistics). In each lesson, students are presented with one or two primary sources; targeted questions then ask them to analyze, interpret, make inferences, form opinions, and shape arguments into narrative form. Each unit contains five activities, at least one of which involves opposing viewpoints or an examination of the motivations of the creator(s) of the source. A culminating activity focuses on broader themes to help students synthesize information from each of the unit’s activities. Clear objectives, teacher directions, extension activities, and assessment guidelines complete the package. Grades 6–12. Source list. Spiralbound. 8½" x 11". Social Studies School Service. Approximately 50 pages each. ©2001–2004.
