Imagine having a variety of digital files—streaming video, eBooks, PowerPoints—all contained in one place and available for easy access at any time, from any computer. Social Studies School Service now offers a variety of titles available for digital download or streaming, and lets you organize and view the ones you purchase by using our handy My Content feature. Here, you can arrange your digital files by subject or title; view, download, or print files; and watch streaming video either in small-screen or fullscreen mode.

How to purchase digital files

To find digital files, you can use the Media dropdown menu on our Advanced Search page. You can select eBooks, dowloadable PowerPoints, or streaming video from the menu, then click the search button.

Once you find a title you'd like to get, you can order the digital version easily from the title's description page. If you've chosen a streaming video, make sure you select the subscription length you want from the choices available.

Next, go to your cart and begin the order process. Note that for digital titles you will have to read the license agreements at the bottom of the first ordering page and check off the box confirming that you will comply with them.

For the ordering page about shipping, make sure you select the "Regular shipping" button.

Accessing your digital files

Once you have purchased digital files, use the following instructions to download and access them online:

You need to be registered to access your digital items. Once you have signed in, go to your My Content page. Your items appear in a table that has three columns: Title, Subject, and Media. Your items will be sorted by subject, but you can click at the top of any of the columns to re-sort them. You can also click on any of the items in the Title column to open up a separate window with a description of that item.

To download or open up your files, click on the links in the Media column. Each link will open in a separate window, so that you can have several items on a particular topic open at the same time and easily switch between them.

If you have purchased streaming video, the expiration date will appear in the Media column after the link to open up the video.
