Debating the Documents further develops students' analytical skills with short textual passages and more visual primary sources. Students read short background accounts, assess a timeline of events, and then debate the merits of different primary sources to help understand points of view from a particular era.

The Historians Apprentice deepens student historical understanding by doing what historians actually do: sourcing, weighing evidence, comparing documents, and forming conclusions based on both primary and secondary sources.

The DBQ Writing Program provides a skills-based curriculum consisting of eight sequential, cumulative lessons that help students interpret primary sources and answer document-based questions, including developing a thesis statement.
