Applying Common Core
Hit every 6–8 Common Core History/Social Studies Standard at least once, tracking them as you go with
a convenient chart.
Students develop writing skills as they assess history topics using short-answer questions, close reading,
essay assignments, Socratic seminars, and analysis of primary and secondary sources.
Components
Packs contain 15 or 16 booklets. Each booklet has 6 activities and 3 writing assignments, selected answers, a glossary of the standards, and Tracking Common Core Standards chart.

Chapters of each booklet are organized in the same way as the Common Core Standards, for example, "Craft and Structure."
Each activity explicitly states standards covered, with a glossary of what they are.
