The Warsaw Ghetto film footage regarded for so many years as straight documentary is here proven to be elaborately faked Nazi propaganda. Director Yael Hersonski reveals the deception by deftly deploying the original film, a recently discovered reel of outtakes, readings from the diaries of witnesses, interviews with survivors, and even an interview with one of the Nazi cameramen. Hersonski’s documentary exposes the methods of Nazi propagandists and restores humanity to victims whose dignity had been erased.
