By Felicia T. Perez. Students act as criminalists, gathering, analyzing, and interpreting evidence to solve the murder of one of the 91 Jews killed by Nazis on Kristallnacht. A PowerPoint® presentation introduces the activity and provides a "coroner's report" on the cause of death, a "detective's research report" with clues (documents and photographs) to the historical context, and more clues from the crime scene. Taking note of details about objects, people, and locations, student detectives fill out a forensic report on what crime took place, who was responsible, and other what, where, when, how, and why questions.
