ENGAGING WITH HISTORY IN THE CLASSROOM
Connect with a representative to create a custom curriculum for your district.
Encourage students to think like historians as they examine a number of primary sources, questioning different perspectives of events and investigating and imagining the hopes, dreams, and feelings of real people from particular historic eras.
Lessons are designed as paths to discovery, engaging students in critical reading, thinking, and speaking while focusing on what it means to be an American citizen living in a democracy that expects as much from its citizens as it provides to them. Teacher resources, including a running script for guiding conceptualization and extensive teacher notes with suggestions for personalizing activities, help to make this useful for both new and experienced teachers. Aligned to Common Core State Standards.
