Many are famous (Roger Williams, Mason and Dixon, Benjamin Banneker, Sequoyah, James Polk, Brigham Young, William Seward, Lili’uoklani and Sanford Dole) and many are lesser known (Robert Jenkins, who lost an ear and defined Florida; John Hardeman Walker, who nailed the "boot heel" to Missouri; Lyman Cutler, who shot a pig, which led to a redefinition of our border with Canada).
