Each defines important terms, introduces leading figures, describes the conditions that contributed to the ism’s development, and traces its realization throughout history. Communism & Socialism follows different manners of implementation in Europe, Asia, and beyond, as well as the resonating effects of America’s involvement in the Cold War. Fascism focuses on Mussolini and Hitler (but also touches on lesser movements) to illustrate the rise and maintenance of militant nationalism via propaganda and violence. Teacher’s guides (on disc) include program overviews, objectives, student activities for pre- and postviewing, quizzes, project ideas and discussion prompts, further reading, and complete scripts.
