Cities sprawling over the surface, roads carved into mountains, artificial islands built up out of the sea—when seen from above, the impact these everyday features have on our planet becomes unmistakable. The photo series presents the Earth in a way that is inspired by the overview effect, the sensation astronauts experience when given the opportunity to see Earth as a whole: awe for the planet, a profound perception of the interconnection of all life, and a reinforced desire to take care of our one and only home.
