THE GANGES

The Ganges, India’s holy river, is seen by Indians as a gift from Shiva, the goddess of regeneration, a heavenly river flowing on earth. Bathing in the sacred waters of the Ganges can cleanse one of sin—so devout Hindus believe. This program breathes life into the world of the Hindu faith as it foows the journey of Jamana Lal. When Lal’s mother died unexpectedly, he and his brother decided to make a pilgrimage from one end of the Ganges to the other for their mother’s soul and to cast her ashes into the holy river.
