Players name their town; work in cooperative learning groups to set up stores and services; practice reading, speaking, math, and art skills; go on study trips in your local community; elect a new mayor (sorry, Your Honor); and conclude with a Town Meeting to which parents are invited. The simulation includes detailed directions, reproducible masters (money, games, maps, dozens of forms such as job applications and ballots), teaching tips, and extension activities. Players: entire class. Time: 13 or more hours.
