What if satellite communications had made possible a daily news broadcast of events around the globe—back in the year 1215?
This series of six imaginative programs re-creates just such an idea, complete with TV anchorpersons, roving field reporters, point/counterpoint debates, feature stories, and even commercials. Ranging from the 12th through the 17th centuries, each program covers a wide variety of stories, allowing viewers to become “eyewitnesses” of worldwide events. Among the “news” stories covered are the Second Crusade, the signing of Magna Carta, the Hundred Years War, Joan of Arc, Leonardo da Vinci, and the English Civil War.
