Acting as Congressional representatives, students research and debate the issues of the day, argue for and against particular bills, and finally vote according to political and regional allegiances.
A realistic sense of party and constituent pressure informs the proceedings as students—motivated to win reelection by accruing "votes" based on the legislation they are able to pass—fight for the interests of their supporters. Bills concern important issues such as Second Amendment rights, gay rights, abortion, marijuana legalization, and more. The full simulation runs 20 class periods.
