SURVIVOR: Life After Genocide
Students become documentary filmmakers: they learn about this global issue by watching raw video footage and then editing the footage into original documentaries to communicate their insights to classmates. The curriculum module supplies three hours of footage organized into topics germane to the module’s main theme, an additional two hours of “B-roll” showing general conditions of the people and place under study, and a standards-based teaching unit providing instructional strategies (sequential or “cafeteria-style”), class activities, grading rubrics, and other support materials (e.g., PowerPoint®presentations, lecture materials, and student briefing materials).
