THE MONGOL IMPACT ON CHINA, EUROPE AND THE MIDDLE EAST 1200–1400 CE

The primary sources deal with the nature of nomadic life among the Mongols, and accounts by various European and non-Mongol visitors to Mongol lands. The secondary sources differ on their views of the Mongols and their impact on world history. Concluding exercises have students assess questions such as "Using the documents from this lesson describe the key ways that the Mongul Empire differed in its social patterns and cultural attitudes from settled societies around it."
