U.S. HISTORY DETECTIVE

In each lesson, students read a passage followed by a series of multiple-choice and written-response questions requiring in-depth analysis that support the development of new vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills. Students gain experience drawing inferences and conclusions, differentiating between facts and opinions, viewing history as a series of interrelated events, and drawing information from geographical maps and charts. Use as a stand-alone text, a supplement to other texts, or a review course. Book 1 covers the colonial era through Reconstruction; Book 2 goes from the late 1800s through the 21st century.
