This innovative resource employs "first day covers"—official envelopes bearing a postage stamp cancelled on its first day of issuance, as well as a commemorative, explanatory image—as the basis for primary source analysis.
Volume 1 includes topics such as the Mayflower Compact, Eli Whitney, the Pony Express, and the 13th Amendment; Volume 2 covers W.E.B. Du Bois, the Panama Canal, WWI propaganda, and LBJ. and the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Each volume contains 30 standards-based lessons in pdf format. Lessons provide procedures, background, discussion questions, activities, websites, and one to four color reproductions of the first day covers and stamps.
Quantities are limited.
