Combining video-game appeal with solid academic content, these programs create a "quiz bowl" atmosphere to challenge students with hundreds of multiple-choice questions based on national standards and commonly used textbooks.
Ideal for competitive whole-class play, the CDs can also be used by groups or individuals for test preparation, extra credit, or make-up assignments. Teachers can set game length, select questions by source (book, chapter, or standard), and choose parameters for play. The computer reads question stems and choices in a clear voice then provides immediate feedback. Added features include audience polling, going half-and-half, and performance review intermissions. One CD containing the PowerZone game engine is included with the set as well as with each individual program.
