In the News
Akron Public Schools has recently adopted Nystrom Young Citizens social studies curriculum for grades K-3! Enticed by the ability to teach social studies through multiple perspectives and the ample amounts of hands-on/interactive activities, this district is one of many to love our Young Citizens.
Adopters were also sold on the curriculum’s use of maps and globe to help students understand their community and world. The committee also appreciated the digital materials such as lessons and worksheets that are easy for teachers to use, an online textbook for students with interactive activities, and the “inquiry-forward look at social studies.”
From the article: “Curriculum reviewers favored this program because of its easy-to-read text layout and storytelling text. The content builds a sense of community with hands-on learning using maps and pre-built assessments.”
