AS SEEN THROUGH THESE EYES
Juxtaposing historic newsreel footage with the emotionally expressive drawings and paintings of two dozen artists (including children) who documented ghetto and camp life allows viewers to see the Holocaust (especially Theresienstadt and Auschwitz) through eyes that, unlike a camera’s lens, register horror and moral outrage. Some teachers use this program to inspire students to respond to the Holocaust by creating their own art. Also includes scenes from the infamous Theresienstadt performance of Brundibar. Directed by Hilary Helstein. Narrated by Maya Angelou.
