He finds great whites and sea otters off Santa Cruz, black bears near Mammoth, rattlers and bobcats close to Hollywood, more snakes and a desert tortoise in the Mojave, and endangered bighorn sheep on mountain slopes by Palm Springs. Students are taught key science concepts via close-up photography and Corwin’s informed (and often zany) commentary.
