FAMILY TREE

Interviewing and note-taking techniques are first practiced then applied to family members. The resulting conversations reveal statistics and views on religion, economic, war, politics, marriage, technology and more, all from a personal historical perspective. Students’ carefully documented research results in an organized Family Tree and Family Time Line. After analyzing the information for common themes, students write an essay about their families, incorporating their feelings and perspectives on what they’ve learned. Up to 10 hours of instruction.
