In this exploration of 1950s society and culture, students participate in activities such as assembling newspaper-style recaps of important events, writing creatively in the style of pop-culture figures, re-creating famous scenes from movies and television, and role-playing teens from various school social groups.
The teacher’s guide provides complete procedures, scripts, and reproducible handouts. Four clearly defined, modular phases (requiring from four to ten class periods each) can stand alone or be combined with introductory and debriefing phases to make a whole unit.
