Here is the Holocaust raw. This British liberation footage, filmed in 1945 and edited by Alfred Hitchcock (among others) remained unfinished and unseen until broadcast by Frontline in 1984.
Actor Trevor Howard narrates as the 11th Armored pushes past picturesque dairy farms and the plump prisoners of Bergen-Belsen’s outer "show camp" to the inner camp’s acres of skeletal, naked corpses (warning: many, many naked bodies). Extensive footage of burying the dead and providing food, clothing, and medicine to the living of Bergen-Belsen precede briefer scenes from Dachau (including gas chambers and a crematorium), Buchenwald (lampshades made of human skin), and other camps. Because nothing has been added to the production’s unfinished state, prolonged silences sometimes accompany scenes of unspeakable horror.
