PRESERVING THE BILL OF RIGHTS
With Modifications to Support Literacy and English Language Learners
Curriculum unit
Connect with a representative to create a custom curriculum for your district.
Connect students to the Bill of Rights through reproducible readings and activities involving, for example, comprehension and critical-thinking questions, restating ideas in a student's own words, or using graphic organizers to prompt analysis.
Ten standards-based units, each with two fully prepared lessons, address each of the Bill’s guaranteed rights, and also federalism, the 14th Amendment’s incorporation clause, and the origin of the Bill of Rights. Two introductory critical-thinking lessons use side-by-side English and Spanish to summarize founding principles and scaffold essential vocabulary.
