RISE AND FALL OF SHOGUN JAPAN, 552–1868
Map on spring roller with backboard
The main part of the map shows the main land-owning families in the 1180s (Fujiwara, Minimoto, and Taira), allegiances of areas in the 1860s (to the shogun, to the emperor, or to neither), and rebel troop movements and uprisings. An inset shows events in Japan from 1853–1868, and a pyramid chart shows the Japanese feudal structure from 1467–1867.
