WAR AGAINST THE NAZIS

In addition to three of Frank Capra’s Why We Fight films (Prelude to War, The Nazis Strike, and Divide and Conquer), three British documentaries compile newsreel and other footage to cover the war from beginning to end (The Blitz Years: 1939–41, The Long Years: 1942–44, and How the War Was Won: The Victory Years, 1944–45). The Story of D-Day, The Battle of Britain, and Fight for the Sea provide further British perspective. Three films address the concentration camps in graphic and horrifying detail (Here Is Germany, Death Mills, and Nazi Concentration Camps). Finally, Nuremberg records efforts to hold the Nazi leadership accountable and forestall further such war crimes.
