Young Citizens was created to help elementary students make sense of their world—understanding their communities, their country, and their role in shaping the future. By bringing together social studies, literacy, and inquiry in a clear, cohesive approach, the program supports teachers in building confident learners today and thoughtful citizens for tomorrow.

Young Citizens Classroom
You’ll see students uncovering the story of their country and state through inquiry and active learning. Each lesson begins with a compelling question that invites students to take ownership. Using their Student Books, they engage with short texts, primary sources, and images—making connections and sharing ideas. Geography grounds their understanding as they connect people, places, and events.
Students then move to Activity Sheets to apply their learning forming ideas and strengthening skills. Throughout the lesson, the teacher models, guides, and encourages every voice, ensuring all learners can engage. In Young Citizens, history is explored, mapped, discussed, and made meaningful.
